Reads and Recipes (January 10)

Hello, everyone, and happy weekend! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a Reads and Recipes round-up, because of the holidays and traveling. It’s back today, though! Here are some of my favorite running reads and recipes from this week.

Reads and Recipes

Reads

Runner’s World, “Meb Kleflezighi, Shalane Flanagan Head U.S. Squad for Boston”
Yes! I enjoyed watching Meb and Shalane so much in the Boston Marathon last year and am excited to see what they do this year. Both as such inspiring runners and both had amazing seasons in 2014.

Runner’s World, “10 Editor-Approved Marathons for 2015”
This list makes me want to run a marathon this year. I’m particularly obsessed with the Eugene Marathon, because I’m totally obsessed with Oregon and Washington right now.

Hungry Runner Girl, “Different Types of Runs Defined and Brooke’s Running Video”
This post is a great guide to what defines easy runs, long runs, hill repeats, progression runs, and many other types of runs. Plus, the video of her daughter running is just too cute!

Running Out of Wine, “From ‘Recovery’ to ‘Training’: The Base-Building Phase”
I posted about base building earlier this week, and this post is a great read about how to develop a base-building plan and what type of runs to include. She even includes some useful running workouts!

Recipes

How Sweet Eats, “Chili Garlic Chicken Skewers with Greek Yogurt Dip”

All these flavors, yes please. These sound ridiculously delicious, and are definitely going to end up on next week’s meal plan.

Minimalist Baker, “Chickpea Sunflower Sandwich”
I’ve been all about veggie-stuffed wraps and sandwiches for lunch this week, and this sandwich will definitely find its way into my rotation. The chickpea salad with garlic herb tahini sauce would be super good on a salad as well.
