Hi, everyone! Greetings from St. Louis!
Is anyone racing this weekend?
Here are some of my favorite running related reads and recipes I want to try from this week! If you read a great post or found a delicious recipe, please share in the comments!
Tina Muir hits the nail on the heat with her post Letting Go of Perfection. It is so tricky to balance self-branding as a blogger versus presenting an overly idealistic and too-perfect life. No one’s life is perfect, no matter how perfect their Instagram appears. It’s our so-called imperfections that make life interesting, as it is! As someone whose everything is covered in a thick layer of pug fur, who is unemployed by traditional definitions of work, and who is holds herself to impossibly high standards (like, I cried in high school when I got a B+ in a class), it’s a good reminder that we also should not worry about whether others perceive our lives as perfect or not.
Not happy with any training plans but not ready to hire a coach? Amanda at Run to the Finish offers her very useful tips on How to Build Your Own Training Plan from the 5K to Marathon. I build my own training plan for my most recent half marathon, and I loved how I could play to my strengths and weakness!
So many runners will say, “I’m not really a runner.” If you put one foot in front of the other at a pace different than walking, you are a runner! Janae at Hungry Runner Girl dispels some of the “I’m not a runner” claims with her post You Are a Runner Even If…
Mexican food is my favorite summer food and the pork tacos I had on Cinco de Mayo only made me crave it more. I am obsessed with this Crispy Carnitas Oven Nachos with Homemade Tortilla Chips.
These 5-Ingredient Whiskey Dark Chocolate Truffles from Gimme Some Oven are definitely worth the indulgence.
Lindsay at Cotter Crunch makes grain-free baking easy with these Peanut Butter Raspberry Breads. Was there ever a better combination than peanut butter with berries?
